Theonomy & the Kingdom

John W. and I have been having a fascinating discussion about the borderland between religious faith and political expression. Most particularly, we've been staking out our positions relative to a fundamentalist movement in the northern hemisphere known variously as theonomy, Dominionism, or Christian Reconstruction. wikipedia has some really good articles on this, but I also very much enjoyed this one because it takes the time to define good "Now and Not-Yet" Kingdom eschatology over-and-against the aforementioned nuttery. Note, too, the mention of Herman Ridderbos' wonderful book The Coming of the Kingdom -- one of my desert island books.
